Personal Statement

I am enthusiastic when it comes to expanding my knowledge in my chosen subject. I would like to find out how each component of a computer works and be able to retrieve substantial evidence that could be beneficial to future cyber-crime trials. I am able to study independently and have a passion for any subject that I have studied in the past and the course I have chosen to study at university. I studied A-Level History which shows that I am very analytical and can research around any task that I am given. AS-Level Politics as a subject of study shows that I am up to date and articulate on current affairs. This skill is crucial when it comes to studying Computer Forensics because I would always be up to date on the latest modifications and inventions within the technoogical world. I have also studied A-Level Law. This subject allowed me to use my debating skills but also strengthen my analytical skills by showing me both sides of a legal argument. Computer Forensics and Law work hand-in-hand when coming to a conclusion and ultimately a judgement in any trial which involves technological evidence. As of 2005, I have been privately educated at both Hillcrest Grammar School and Kings Monkton School. I have always embraced wider opportunities to expand my learning. For example in July 2009, I participated in a week of work experience in the Podiatry Department in the Welsh NHS. During that week, I learnt how to use the PARIS computer system to input patient records and to book appointments. In October 2010 I became an active member of both the Welsh Conservative Party and the Vale of Glamorgan branch of the Conservative Future. During the recent Welsh Assembly elections, I helped campaign with the party to try and gain a majority in the assembly. I have recently been appointed acting chairman of the Vale of Glamorgan Conservative Future branch. This role will widen my general knowledge, but also my team – building and leadership skills as well. I believe in meritocracy, so I work hard to someday to achieve the highest level of gratitude from my peers and I'm very committed to the tasks I'm set. My position will be to liaise with local councillors and help them with their campaign to win the council elections of 2012. Outside of university, I enjoy reading both fact and fiction; with my favourite genres being Crime and Science-Fiction, watching movies, listening to music, walking and spending time with my friends. We live in a technological age and the information stored on computers and other digital devices reveals many details about what we do and where we have been. I would like to be able to, as a skilled professional, assist the authorities by helping them to identify and convict those who have broken the law. Ultimately, a degree in Computer Forensics would help with my career prospects in the future, which include enlisting in either MI5 or SIS.

Teaching Experience

I have no current teaching experience - but i have watched the way my teachers taught me and it is a skill which i could adapt to quite easily.

Teaching approach

I would mirror the way that my teachers and lecturers have taught me in the past and use those techniques to teach those who wish to be taught.
